She came, she saw, she spoiled

Memom Fox came all the way from NJ to see Carson for the first time. It is nice when the older people come to visit because their nap schedule is about that same as Carson's. There were many an afternoon that I found Carson and Memom napping on the couch. It was nice having her here because Brenda had returned to work and I could get some tasks done around the house.

Brenda's Aunt Pam also stopped by for a quick meeting. She couldn't get over his size, which is now over 13 lbs. The next scheduled visitor is Great Grandma Stover

Another First

During a visit to Brenda's parents' house Carson collected his very first buckeye. This lucky nut came straight from the tree and is slightly smaller than a golf ball.

Vistors

My Dad and Mary brought my Grandmom to meet Carson. Grandmom tried to sing him to sleep every chance she got, but she has been doing that to babies for over 30 years now. We are going with Pops as a name for my Dad. It seems to fit him and my Grandfather was Pop-pop so it is a nice connection. We had a great visit and Carson received lots of attention. Next weekend Memom(my Mom) is coming for her first visit.

The Zoo

Brenda and Carson joined some friends on a trip to the Zoo. This was his first zoo outing and as you can see he really enjoyed it. With this kind of excitement I think we are going to have a hands full :)

Go Bucks!

College football season is here and we are all very excited. We have decided to start his sports fandom early and on the correct path. I'm not sure what scared him more, the play of OSU or the big buckeye on his shirt.

We Are Family

Carson took his first field trip to a family event. Brenda's Aunt Susan "SuSu" hosted a birthday party for her daughter and grandson who were up from Wilmington, NC. He got to meet 3 of 4 Great Aunts...I think they are like the President, Vice President and Speaker of the House, they can't all travel together. Throw in uncles, cousins, and family friends and he had a big day. Carson tried his best but couldn't fill his diaper for everyone who held him, but he gave it a shot.

1st Dr. Appointment

Carson made his first trip to see Dr. Phau. He has gained back all his birth weight plus 9 oz. Along with the gain in length he is now in the 100 percentile for height and weight. The good news is his head is only in the 80 percentile. The Dr. said his heart and lungs sounded great and his color looked good.

Security

Mason and Ally have taken to the little guy. Ally is an old pro ever since we brought Mason home and he never left. I think Mason is still waiting for Carson to leave. None the less I think he has permanent protectors.

First Friends

The Parker Twins, Brennan and Lily. This pair belongs to one of Brenda's oldest friends. I'd like to think Carson was trying to get to know Lily a little better but in reality he doesn't have control of his big head and it just pulled him over.

First Bath

The cord is off so it is time for his first bath. I have to admit something...this is a picture of his second bath. I was so worried about the water temp that I forgot the camera. The 1st and 2nd baths pretty much looked the same...hands up and lots of confusion.

Home, Safe and Sound

So after 2 days in the hospital and clean bill of health we were able to take Carson home. He took immediately to his swing. And yes his hands are that big

HELLO WORLD!!!

Welcome to our lives Carson! I really should have said something profound when he arrived but I could only blurt out "Wow, he's a tank!". 9lb 2oz caught everyone by surprise, even the doctor. Within a few minutes of leaving the warm confines of the womb they had him cleaned, weighed and security tagged. The folks at Mt Carmel East did a great job, especial our labor and delivery nurse Liz. Brenda was real a pro and thanks to some good drugs she knocked it out in under an hour.
